DUALISM - EDITORIAL PT3
Today we present the third installment of our editorial series collaboration with online publication modestnobility featuring progressive labels Lost & Found Ria Dunn and Pedram Karimi. The editorial entitled 'Dualism in Fashion' focuses on how fashion can be seen as a form of art, that relies heavily on the freedom of expression of our inner thoughts. However, as a largely commercialised system driven by profit, this freedom can sometimes be restricted. For a designer, the pressure to continuously create unique yet wearable garments that appeal to the buyer every season can be laborious. And then we have a dualism between ‘commercialism and conceptuality’ so the need for designs to be innovative enough to be differentiated from other labels, but not so innovative that they become unattainable can sometimes be a thorn in the flesh for most designers. This editorial highlights the immense effort in work to create such garments with craftsmanship and passion in order to maintain the perfect balance for the consumer.
