PRESENTING - ALEXANDRE PLOKHOV SS16
PRESENTING - ALEXANDRE PLOKHOV SPRING/SUMMER 2016 NEW YORK FASHION WEEK //
Continuing to evolve the recipe for success Alexandre Plokhov’s SS16 collection shown during New York fashion week unveiled a table spoon of philosophy, 100 grams of quality, several pinches of movement, and a splash of eye catching details, all fused together within the structure of the patchwork garments. A simple recipe for contemporary tailoring that is cut at precise angles, and texturally defines in a muted light.
Calling upon his time at Marc Jacobs, Cloak, and Versace, Plokhov’s developed a distinct approach to his collections through his vibrant injections of colour to his typical monochrome palette, use of fabric and overall essence. Inspired by Neal Stephenson’s ‘The Mongoliad’ Plokhov sent out military style, utilitarian concoctions with a modern day twist. Sitting alongside Plokhov's signature black on black silhouette was a subtle offering of gradients in this colour palette distinguishing a variance in tone and consistency, while natural elements, materials, and an earthly ocular was a grounding force for Plokhov’s urban ideal.
