VLADIMIR KARALEEV - SS16 COLLECTION
Vladimir Karaleev unveils his Spring/Summer 2016 lookbook, featuring model Hans Laurin and shot by Hanna Rückert. The collection offers a deconstructed and raw aesthetic which has become Karaleev's signature, cementing him as one of the most sought after emerging talents to come out of Berlin. The SS16 collection oozes his creative prowess once more by offering a refreshing lineup that puts an unconventional take on a casual style, serving up a dose of thoughtful carelessness.
The collection is a perfect manifestation of an organised mess with a hint of androgyny. Relaxed silhouettes dominate the lineup, with details in the form of frayed hemlines and seams, draped necklines and lapels and touches of applique all add to a somewhat sensual appeal that permeates the whole collection.
Muted spring-inspired hues comprise the majority of the palette, with a strong focus on shades of blue, as well as hints of peach and coral serving as accents against the more neutral tones of black, grey and white. Juxtaposing fabrics are seen in a combination of rich, heavy textures set against airy, often sheer fabrics striking a harmonious balance.
